Privacy Policy
Effective September 17, 2026. This policy explains how Match (“Match,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our iOS app and services.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide to create and use an account, including your display name, email address and/or phone number, selected sports, self-assessed levels, region, profile bio, profile photos, venue favorites, and account preferences.
We also process information you create in Match: game details, invitations and RSVP status, game results, reviews, venue ratings, messages, reports, and optional photos attached to reviews. Your phone number is used for authentication and is not displayed on profiles, games, or messages.
With your permission, Match uses device location to find and sort nearby venues and games. Match does not display your live location or home address to other players. Venue activity is aggregated, sport-specific, and privacy-thresholded.
We receive limited technical information needed to run and secure the service, such as device and app identifiers, push-notification tokens, diagnostic events, and crash reports.
How we use information
- Provide sign-in, profiles, game discovery, invitations, rooms, messaging, reviews, rankings, and venue features.
- Protect the community by enforcing rules, investigating reports, preventing abuse, and moderating content.
- Send material game, message, review, and account notifications when you opt in.
- Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Match.
How information is shared
Your public profile information, approved reviews, and relevant game participation are shown to other eligible Match users as part of the service. Exact private-venue addresses are restricted to authorized participants. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.
We use service providers to operate Match, including Firebase for authentication, data storage, cloud functions, notifications, and crash diagnostics; Apple services for device and push-notification delivery; and map/place providers for venue information. They process information only to provide their services to us.
Your choices and controls
You can manage sports, profile information, location access, notifications, and biometric app lock in Match settings. You can block or report other users in the app. To request deletion, go to Profile → Account & Safety → Request account deletion. We may retain limited information where needed for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or unresolved safety matters.
Children
Match is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
